We are Conrad Home Services
We can inspect your home, test it for Radon, and solve any issues.
Radon gas measurement and mitigation are crucial for ensuring health and safety. As a leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, radon presents significant health risks that necessitate regular testing and reduction efforts. Being a colorless and odorless gas, radon can only be detected through proper testing, making it an invisible threat. Additionally, adherence to safety regulations and effective radon mitigation can enhance property value by ensuring a safe environment for the occupants.

Certified Professional Inspector
In my career I have framed homes, worked as a contractor building custom homes with my father, worked in lead abatement for government agencies, was licensed as an electrician, and have experience with almost any aspect of home construction you can think of.
This experience has given me an eye for knowing the best way to install something and integrate it so it won't interfere with the existing structure, built to last and easy to maintain.
We are a simple, no nonsense, family-owned business who will make sure your job is done right.
Radon Measurement
Radon is a colorless and odorless gas that occurs naturally in the soil, and is produced by the radioactive breakdown or decay of uranium and radium. It can seep into homes and is harmful to humans when inhaled.
The EPA recommends mitigation if the radon level is 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter) or more. On average, it is thought that 50%-70% of homes in Iowa are above that level.
Measuring your home's levels can give you peace of mind that your home is safe, or alert you that mitigation is necessary.
Radon Mitigation
There are many methods that can be utilized to mitigate the presence of Radon gas in a home.
We offer both active and passive sub-slab depressurization methods, sump pump radon mitigation, crawlspace ventilation, and sub-membrane depressurization. Sealing cracks and openings can also provide the needed protection in some situations.
We can inspect your property and match the right solution to your particular home.
Home Inspections
Our home inspections stand out because we choose to go where others won't. We will actually get up on your roof to look it over closely and do a thorough inspection. In fact, we will physically access any area to inspect it whenever it is possible.
My many years of construction experience have given me insight into how things should be built and common mistakes that are made. I can give you a clear picture of where things stand.
I am Inspection Certification Associates trained and follow ANSI Standards.
